Forkbook is built around meal capture, analysis, and history. The app keeps data use narrow: photo in, nutrition estimate out, with account storage only when you choose to sign in.

Data Forkbook uses
Forkbook uses the meal photo you choose, optional notes you add, nutrition estimates returned by the analysis service, account profile details needed to sign you in and sync meal history, and subscription status needed to manage paid scan access.
How analysis works
Meal photos and notes are sent to Forkbook's backend so the app can estimate meal names, portions, calories, macros, and safety fallbacks. Estimates can be imperfect and should be reviewed before you rely on them.
Storage
Device-only meal history stays on your phone until you clear it or delete the app. Signed-in meal history, account profile details, and private meal-photo references can be stored in Forkbook's backend so your history can sync across sessions.
Third-party processors
Forkbook uses service providers for app hosting, authentication, database storage, AI analysis, and subscription entitlement checks. These providers process data only as needed to run the app, protect accounts, return analysis results, manage purchases, and maintain reliability.
Diagnostics and safety
Forkbook can record analysis timing, trace identifiers, model configuration, status, and error details so failures can be debugged. Diagnostic records do not intentionally store raw uploads unless they are needed to investigate a specific support or reliability issue.
Your controls
You can sign out, clear local history, or delete your account from the Profile tab. Deleting an account removes the signed-in profile, cloud meal history, and local app history on that device.
Tracking
Forkbook is not designed around advertising tracking. If analytics or marketing tools are added later, this policy will be updated before they are used.
